Eat only one portion of starch per day. Eat it before mid-day. Choose between beans, sweet potatoes, and bananas that aren't too ripe.
Cut grain products from your diet. For the time-being, eliminate all products made with wheat, corn, rice, and other grains.
Get 95% of your calories from unprocessed whole foods. Eat lots of raw and lightly cooked vegetables and lean proteins. Eat moderate amounts of healthy fats (from olives, nuts, seeds, avocado, etc) and small amounts of fresh fruit. Small amounts of cheese, low-sugar yogurt, and other minimally-processed "healthy" foods should make up the rest of your diet.
Follow healthy lifestyle basics. That means keeping alcohol intake to 1-2 drinks per day maximum and sleeping at least 7-8 hours per night. Also, do some form of exercise for at least 30 minutes, 4-6 times per week.
Use effective supplements. Take a good multivitamin and an omega-3 fat supplement. Boost your protein intake using a quality whey protein powder.
Drink water and no-sugar teas all day long. Drink at least 8 ounces for every 20 pounds of bodyweight. This is a must for fast, healthy fat-burning.
